Designing an Attractive Teaching Plan for Student Needs

Lesson plan 7E model

A Teaching Plan serves as a guide that will steer us through the learning process, and hence, it is crucial to design it with utmost care. In this paragraph, I will delve into the approaches, strategies, and methods I have carefully chosen to create a meaningful learning experience for students. We will also consider various learning styles and students' levels of comprehension to ensure that this teaching plan is genuinely inclusive and accessible to student

In preparing for teaching at BUCEILS-SHS, I have undergone a series of important coordination efforts with the cooperating teacher. My teaching plan is based on the K-12 Senior High School Program curriculum. In this curriculum, physics is introduced at the 12th-grade level. Over the course of two semesters, students delve into physics with a focus on fundamental topics such as mechanics, thermal physics, electricity, magnetism, optics, and modern physics. The material is divided into two semesters, with various topics taught in each semester. The primary goal of physics education in SHS is to enable students to grasp the fundamental concepts of physics, develop critical, analytical, and experimental thinking skills, and apply physics concepts in real-world contexts.

At the outset of our first meeting, I conducted observations with a lesson on measurements. The next topic I will cover is vectors. In preparing the teaching plan, the first step is to create a lesson plan. For the subject of physics, I utilize the 7E lesson plan model, which includes stages such as Elicit, Engage, Explore, Explain, Elaborate, Evaluate, and Extend. Careful consideration is given to selecting the appropriate instructional model, and in this case, I have chosen a guided inquiry model that aligns with the established lesson plan indicators.

The lesson plan I construct must encompass the content to be delivered, expected student performance, and learning objectives aligned with Bloom's taxonomy. Furthermore, the lesson plan must include the skills and literacies that students are expected to achieve, such as participation, cooperation, critical thinking, visual analysis, communication, collaboration, and the acquisition of knowledge from each activity they engage in.

In addition to crafting the lesson plan, I also need to prepare various forms of assessments, including problem-solving exercises to enhance students' physics skills, group activities or discussions to develop their social abilities, as well as laboratory experiments and quizzes to gauge students' proficiency following the learning process.

To support the teaching and learning process, I have prepared instructional media, such as PowerPoint presentations (PPT), to facilitate clear explanations of the material. Furthermore, I have selected several YouTube videos to serve as supplementary resources to aid students in understanding the topics I will be teaching.

Beyond the technical preparations, as a teacher, a strong grasp of the subject matter to be taught is crucial. I must possess a deep understanding of physics concepts, particularly vectors, which I will convey to the students. All of these steps represent my utmost efforts to provide a quality and beneficial learning experience for the students at BUCEILS-SHS.
